Gap Cover Insurance Policy

The Policy Document is available to download as a PDF file and contains all the details about your Gap Cover Insurance Policy.

The full terms and conditions of cover are contained in the Policy Document PDF. This describes the cover that is provided for all three products. The exact level of cover that you have bought will be confirmed in the policy schedule that we will send to you. If your vehicle is subject to a total loss claim and is written off by your comprehensive motor insurer the GAP insurer will pay you the difference between:

If you have Vehicle Replacement Cover confirmed in your schedule:

  • The cost of a like-for like replacement matching the make, model, and specification of your vehicle (even if the list price has increased since you took out cover).

or, if you have Return to Invoice Cover confirmed in your schedule:

  • The net invoice price you paid for your vehicle;

or, if You have Return to Value Cover confirmed in your schedule:

  • The insured value of your vehicle at the insurance start date;

The maximum benefit amount the insurer will pay under any policy is £50,000 which includes payment of any excess you may have from your comprehensive motor insurance up to £500 and the total loss must occur during the period of insurance and within the territorial limits.
